I'll dominate 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" the American as the pair came face-to-face to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Former twice world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive disparity - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I plan to injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will really want to injure him. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

Despite these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

However, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, frequently receiving massive paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a KO victory in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters engaged in the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually going ahead.
