Power facilities targeted in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have faced escalating attacks in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's aerial assaults have led to blackouts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were wounded while local people in the city's east were left without electricity and dealt with interruptions to water supplies, according to municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, based on information from local officials.

Russian forces has escalated attacks on energy facilities over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "substantial measures" from international partners to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the US, the EU and the Group of Seven - in delivering defensive weapons and applying penalties," mentioned in a social media post.

Officials stated that 450 drones and more than 30 rockets attacked energy facilities, describing such assaults as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were striving to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles hit power facilities and apartment buildings in the capital.

Multiple people hurt in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, according to city authorities.
